People v Maisonet, 2018 NY Slip Op 05697 [164 AD3d 608]

August 8, 2018

Appellate Division, Second Department

[*1]

The People of the State of New York, Respondent,

v

Ramon Maisonet, Appellant.

Paul Skip Laisure, New York, NY (William Kastin of counsel), for appellant.

Richard A. Brown, District Attorney, Kew Gardens, NY (John M. Castellano, Johnnette Traill, and Danielle S. Fenn of counsel; Deanna Russo on the memorandum), for respondent.

Appeal by the defendant, as limited by his motion, from a sentence of the Supreme Court, Queens County (Ira Margulis, J.), imposed March 25, 2015, upon his plea of guilty, on the ground that the sentence was excessive.

Ordered that the sentence is affirmed.

The defendant’s valid waiver of his right to appeal precludes review of his contention that the sentence imposed was excessive ( see People v Sanders , 25 NY3d 337 [2015]; People v Bradshaw , 18 NY3d 257 [2011]; People v Garcia , 156 AD3d 813 [2017]; People v Calinda , 142 AD3d 1183 [2016]).
